Email Correspondences

I received these two emails just today:

1. Who are you?

2. I am concerned about the way you seem to be portraying the (name deleted) group. This group works hard to represent the district's children with special needs. They are certainly not a fringe group. They have sponsored numerous activities for the kids and supply parents with much needed supports and workshops. Representing the group of the people who run it as a fringe group, or saying that they are working for their own agenda is not only ridiculous, it's blatantly untrue.

To respond:

1. I am a parent in the district who has a child with special needs. I feel that there are many parents who are not being reached by any district organization or group that would benefit from a single source of information.

2. While I did mention those issues in a post, I did not mean to imply that I either believed or disbelieved them. I was merely reporting information that I had picked up around the community. True of false, many people's believe it to be true. I encourage anyone of either opinion to feel free and discuss those opinions here.

Much the same as board of education members or the superintendent of the district, the leaders of the group are public figures. Like any public figure, their intentions and actions toward their "jobs" will be looked at by the public at large. I specifically do not use their names or the name of their group, and I applaud all of their positive actions for the children of the district.

I am an unabashed supporter of the "name deleted" group. I also like the fact you're posting useful information and providing another forum for discussion.

Best of luck.
