Email Correspondences

1. Q: Why are you only answering emails on your blog? What are you hiding?

A: Why, my identity, of course! Who knows what sort of inflammatory ideas I might want to post.

2. Q: (We are) very impressed with your efforts to get accurate information out to the community and we would like to add a link from our site to your blog.

We know that you have taken pains to maintain anonymity and nonpartisanship in Husky Special Ed Discussion. We do understand if you would rather not be added to our site, but regardless, we wanted you to know that we think you are doing a great job & we'd love to at least provide a link for our membership to easily access your blog.

Please let us know if it is agreeable to you to be added as a link on our web page.

A. Thank you for the kind words! How kind of you to ask. Of course you (and anyone else who might wish to) may add a link to this blog on your web page. Hopefully the information here will come in use. I wish you all the best with your web site.

3. Q: Are you available to come to my (my child's) IEP meeting with me?

A: Since I do not know your child personally and have no official capacity, I do not believe it would be appropriate for me to do so. However, I urge you and anyone who thinks it's a good idea to suggest to the superintendent or to the director of special services that they implement some sort of parent advocate system for IEPs. Who wouldn't love to have another parent or an advocate who doesn't answer directly to the district come in with them to face their child study team? It can certainly feel intimidating to face, by yourself, a group of people can often not make you part of the "team".
