1. (paraphrased, as I've gotten this from several emails)
Q. Do you want to come to our meeting/ be a part of our mailing list/ trade information via email. Your email/identity/private information is safe with us.
A. I appreciate the offers, but no. I might actually be at your meeting or on your email list under my name. I do not want the "Husky Special Ed" name identified with any group or any mailing list. If I have not asked to be added to your mailing list please do not add me on. If I've been added without my requesting it, please remove me.
As for trading information, please feel free to use any of the linked information as you like. It can be found openly on the internet, free for all to use and link to. If you'd like to use something specifically from my blog, that I've written myself, feel free to do so given the following conditions: it is only used for non-profit use, on personal or group blogs/sites, and proper credit to this blog is given.
From my experience in this district, quite frankly, I don't give much trust to those who tell me "your secret is safe with me". I've been on the receiving end, far too many times, of "no one is supposed to know this, but I heard it from...." and "I got this info straight from the teacher/superintendent/bus driver, etc., but they made me swear not to tell". At the end of the day, everyone has heard something, though it's probably far from the truth by then. Again, I appreciate your interest, and I'm not judging the specific individuals who've asked. I'm keeping my identity private for a reason, and I'll be keeping it that way for the time being.
2. Q. Would you write something up about our event?
A. If it is a local event, a disability or special ed event, or a school district event that is open to everyone and it is free or little cost to participate, yes, I probably will. Just email me (or add a comment to the blog) with the specifics. I will not advertise for hire service providers, private schools or therapy providers, or tutoring programs. I will consider writing about public activities or community centers that have activities for a nominal cost, support groups, etc. I have to add that I will investigate to the best of my ability the activity or group that I am asked to write about before writing, and I will give a completely honest opinion on the subject, good or bad.
