LD OnLine Article: Helping kids take high stakes tests

In a district with no so great results on state testing, this may be an article that not only parents want to read, but also teachers, CST members, and administrators. It's all about helping kids with disabilities do better on high-stakes testing, such as state tests.

Included in the article is a suggestion of using a computer with spell check for written answers. I've personally never heard of such a thing being used in our district. Has anyone else? How big of a help would that be to our students who suffer from dyslexia, processing disorders, etc.?

I suggest everyone bring the matter up at their next IEP meeting, or write a letter to your case manager asking for the addition.
